
JÚLIO VIEIRA
Júlio Vieira (Osasco – Brazil - 1985) is a visual artist. Vieira researches the construction of urban imagery and its relationship with affective memories, popular culture, everyday objects and the nature that hides in these spaces. He holds a bachelor's degree in design from UNIFIEO, initially working as a designer and art director in the advertising market and starting his career in painting in 2016. He also studied “The creative process” at EAV Parque Lage, under the guidance of Charles Watson. He held exhibitions at institutions such as the Centro Cultural Correios in Rio de Janeiro and Oficina Cultural Oswald de Andrade, was a finalist for the 11th Prize of Revista Dasartes and created murals in Brazil and abroad, in spaces such as SESC Ipiranga, SESC Carmo and Raum für urbane Try it out (Kassel, Germany).

Isso sem dúvida reflete na sua produção, uma vez que as séries de pinturas desenvolvidas por ele partem de elementos destes universo e se transformam em uma proposição plástica bastante coesa, relacionando memórias afetivas com cultura popular, objetos cotidianos com espécies de plantas, signos gráficos com cores opostas e complementares, poesia com imagem. Em todos os seus trabalhos o artista parece querer revelar narrativas possíveis a partir de recombinações de elementos por ele transformados.”
